INTERVENTIONS – Exlibris Gallery at Newcastle University, from 29th June – 7th July
I am fortunate to be part of this mixed show involving Social Scientists from Newcastle UNiversity and a mixture of designers and artists mainly from the Royal College of Art in London.
Working alongside Ben Singleton, writer and designer and Dr Yvette Taylor, Lecturer in Sociology we put together somework based around our collected experience of working in universities.
If anything the outcome, which will be seen from the 28th June onwards, rejoices the collected chaos and body-consciousness of education that ultimately serve as tools for ‘shaping’ the future generation, be-it as designers or thinkers, commentators or creatives.
Fogs and mists, seas with no discernible shoreline, inland seas.
For me personally, the project resonated with my experiences on a recent trip to a small island in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea.
